Newborn Sessions
Tiny toes, small hands, gentle yawns, and lots of sleep… but they don’t stay little forever. As one of the top studios in the country, our Newborn Sessions are the perfect way to capture that first stage where the journey begins. The stunning portraiture we create can be of just baby, or can include parents and siblings too. Our diary fills up fast so advanced booking is essential to guarantee a space.
As the only studio in the UK to hold full AANPS and APNPI newborn safety certifications along with award-winning images you are in safe hands, we have trained with some of the best newborn photographers in the world and can’t wait to create beautiful portraiture to cherish for life.
David is the only male photographer in the world to hold full AANPS Newborn Safety Certification, his studio is the first in the UK to hold full QNP Newborn Safety Certifications and won 2021’s Newborn and Family Photography Studio Of The Year for North East Scotland.

Frequently Asked Questions
When are Newborn Sessions held?
We typically aim for between 5 and 10 days old for the best possible images. We don’t set the exact shoot day until baby arrives so don’t worry if you have a longer stay in hospital - we simply work around this and schedule for once your back home.
How long do Newborn Sessions last?
Our Newborn Sessions are very baby-led, with plenty of time for feeds, changes, and resettling. Sessions are generally 1-3 hours long and we never book anything after the session so that there’s never any rush.
Where are the sessions held?
Our gorgeous studio is perfectly located in the heart of Arbroath on the Westport, close to local transport links and next to a lovely selection of independent retailers and cafes. There is free on-street parking directly outside and free all day parking at the end of the street. Pop in for a chat over our sessions any Saturday 10 am - 2 pm at;

How much do Newborn Sessions cost?
Our Newborn Sessions are £65 for the up to 3 hour session, our editing time and your ordering appointment in studio roughly one week later. From there you can add on anything from our gorgeous selection of wall art, packages and digital options. As these can change from time to time please get in touch to find out our current packages. We do not charge extra to include parent or sibling images in the session.
What training and experience do you have?
With over two decades of experience in the photography industry, and over 1500 studio sessions since opening our Arbroath studio, we have built a great reputation as one of the top newborn studios in the country. On top of this we update our training regularly on everything from local first aid courses to training one on one with the industries top photographers.
When should I book?
You can book your session anytime from the 12-week scan. We only take on a select number of due dates each month so advance booking is crucial to guarantee your space. With babies sometimes arriving earlier or later than expected, we can sometimes also take on last-minute sessions so it’s always worth getting in touch to check.
I’v never booked a Newborn Session before, what should I expect?
Unlike most Newborn Photographers, we work as a family team during the session meaning all you have to do is show up on the right day and put your feet up. We have two comfy sofas, spares of everything from nappies and wipes to muslins, bottle warmers and feeding cushions, our studio has free Wi-Fi throughout and we even have a tv area with a 55” 4k tv with Netflix and Amazon Prime for siblings during the longer sessions. We pride our self on having an extremely relaxed, stress free session experience and can’t wait to have you in the studio.
